The Spirit Of The Clare

The Clare is named after St. Clare of Assisi. Clare who calls herself “a handmaiden of Christ and little plant of St. Frances” is a model of living the Franciscan ideals. She is the foundress of the religious order of sisters - The Poor Clares.”

On August 15, 1255, as Pope Alexander IV canonized Clare, he referred to her as "a light that twinkled and emitted  sparkling rays".  As downtown Chicago's only high-rise retirement community,  The Clare at Water Tower has become a sparkling light in Chicago's skyline, aspiring to become a beacon of faith, compassion, service and joy to those we serve here.

Instead, everything we earn from the fees charged for care and services goes directly into the communities, programs, amenities and services provided to enhance your life.
