Welcome to The Sacred Spaces

The presence of Sacred Spaces within Franciscan Communities is one expression of our Roman Catholic Identity and Franciscan tradition. The design of these spaces is conducive to prayer for all people, encourages participation in communal prayer and provides for an intimate environment for personal prayer.

There are four distinct Sacred Spaces at The Clare to meet the needs of the residents in this community.

THE ST. CLARE CHAPEL on the 19th floor is the largest. Here most of the communal worship services take place.

THE PEACE MEDITATION ROOM on the 15th floor in the Assisted Living Area is designed to recognize and celebrate the diversity of faith traditions and our common desire for Peace. It is dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi who is recognized by all as the Peacemaker. The Peace Chapel's tree of life holds copies of the Holy Bible, the Torah and a Koran.

JESUS THE HEALER CHAPEL is located on the 12th floor in the Memory Support Unit. This holy space offers a peaceful environment surrounding guests with traditional religious elements.

THE SAN DAMIANO CHAPEL on the 11 th Floor in the Skilled Nursing area celebrates St. Clare as a healer and protector.

It is our sincere prayer that these sacred Spaces are welcoming and inviting to persons of diverse faiths, cultures and physical abilities who, by necessity or choice, worship here.
